• LTSD Safe Return Plan - Update October 19, 2023

    The following is the safe return plan as required by the NJDOE as a part of the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund.

    1) Universal and correct wearing of masks

    Mask-wearing will be optional in all schools unless required by the Federal or State government.

    2) Physical distancing (e.g., including use of cohorts/podding)

    Physical distancing will be maintained and enforced when required by law which may include the following:  Schools will provide signage, hallway guides, and physical reminders to maintain social distancing.

    3) Handwashing and respiratory etiquette

    Staff, students, and visitors should wash his/her hands after coughing, sneezing, or blowing his/her nose.  Individuals who are ill should stay home.  Individuals should avoid touching their eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

    4) Cleaning and maintaining healthy facilities, including improving ventilation

    All cleaning and disinfecting products used in the school buildings will be used in accordance with the directions on the label and manufacturer instructions.  Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available for all products and may be found on the facilities section of the district.  When used, custodians will ensure appropriate ventilation in order to protect students and staff.

    5) Contact tracing in combination with isolation and quarantine, in collaboration with the State, local, territorial, or Tribal health departments

    Contract tracing will be conducted for close contacts of confirmed or probable cases of COVID-19 when required by local or state health departments.

    6) Diagnostic and screening testing

    Diagnostic and screening testing will take place for all applicable staff, students, and visitors when required by the local or state health departments.

    7) Efforts to provide vaccinations to educators, other staff, and students, if eligible

    In collaboration with the Ocean County Department of Health, the Lacey Township School District has assisted with and will continue to assist educators, support staff, and students (if eligible) to schedule and obtain vaccinations.

    8) Appropriate accommodations for children with disabilities with respect to health and safety policies

    A multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) is a systemic approach to prevention, intervention, and enrichment in grades Pre-K through twelve for academics and behavior that offers educators and families a mechanism to identify individual students who need extra support to include wrap-around supports such as Summer Enrichment Programs, and After School Academic Support.
