    Mr. Rubin Welcome

    to Mr. Rubin's Class

                                                 September 2, 2020

     Dear Parents,

I wish to welcome you and your child to my class. I am looking forward to teaming up with you to make this year an exciting and rewarding experience for your child. I will be your son/daughter's teacher for Read 180, which I have taught since 2011, Language, Math,  Science, and Social Studies. Currently, I am in the midst of my third decade as a teacher. I began my teaching career in 1994 and then joined the Lacey Township School District in 1995.

As you know, this year will be different from past years. I will be communicating with you and your child, this year, using several different platforms: Email, Remind, and Google Classroom. I will be sending out several emails, to both you and your child, shortly. They concern your child joining my Google Classroom and you joining my Remind. The emails will include instructions for students to join my Google Classroom and an attachment for parents to join my Remind. Please have your child join my Google Classroom as soon as possible. Also, as a parent, please join my Remind as soon as possible.

Please check your child's backpack each day for homework, letters and/or notices from school. You may also check my web page for assignments or classroom information.

Because of an allergy, I am respectfully requesting that you please, carefully check the ingredients label and not send in a lunch which contains tree nuts/nuts, peanuts, peanut butter, and/or peanut oil, Also, please be aware that most labels will tell if a food was made on equipment which also processes peanuts and/or tree nuts/nuts.  I thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.

If at any time, you would like to discuss your son/daughter's current progress or would like a conference, please do not hesitate to contact me by writing a note in his/her assignment pad, calling and leaving a message at extension #9149, or sending me an e-mail at rrubin@laceyschools.org. I will respond as soon as possible.

In closing, let me once again thank you, in advance, for your understanding and supportTogether, we will make this school year, both REWARDING and MEMORABLE, for your child.

                           Thank you :)

    NEWS

    Dear Parents,

Your child now has access to math at home this year. As long as you have internet access, your child may log into enVision 2.0 math from home. I have assigned your child several assignments, which review lessons taught in school. Getting started is easy. First, Go to the Mill Pond homepage and click on the Pearson (apple) link on the red tool bar. Next, have your child sign in. They will use the same username and password they use during Library and Technology classes. Click on enVision2.0 Common Core Grade 5 2016. Now, your child will be on their dashboard. Click the "ORANGE" classes. This will take them to their assignments. There is a task bar which is labeled "Not Started"- they did not start, "In Progress"- they started already, "Completed"- they finished the assignment. Finally, they can click on an assignment and LET THE MAGIC BEGIN:)
